It is necessary to protect your skin from the sun's ultraviolet rays. Pack plenty of sunscreen. In the summer and fall months, be sure to take along insect/mosquito repellent for any treks through the Yucatan jungle. Clothing - what to wear:
The sun is very strong in the summer, we recommend to using light, cotton clothing, hat and sunglasses. If you go into the jungle, wearing long pants, long cotton shirts and socks with your shoes are recommended. If you are coming in the winter bring a couple of pairs of jeans and a few light sweaters as the evenings may get cool. Eye Wear/Care:
Sunglasses are important for bright sunny days. Contact lens wearers should take plenty of eye lubricant and wetting, soaking and cleaning solution. Footwear:
Tennis shoes and hiking boots should be packed for outings and tours. Sandals and boat shoes are in order for relaxing on the beach or a night out. |
