El día 25 de Noviembre el Festival contará con la presencia de The Royal Band, Colin Hunter, Aguamala en la ceremonia inaugural. Ese mismo día cierra las actuaciones el grupo Sacbé, quienes se encuentran conformados por los hermanos Toussaint y son uno de los grupos más representativos en la escena del jazz mexicano.
El 26 de noviembre de 2009 abre las presentaciones Na´rimbo, con un tratamiento jazzístico y una dosis de ritmos afro caribeños en donde la marimba se inserta en cada ejecución que se antoja extraordinaria. Posteriormente actuará Mark Aanderud, pianista y compositor mexicano, exponente e innovador de diversos estilos, desde el Avant-Garde y el Jazz. Le sigue en turno Juan Alzate, quien integra a su música el frenesí del calor y los ritmos africanos. Alzate ha tocado con orquestas sinfónicas en México y en Venezuela y lleva en su haber cinco discos donde expone lo mejor de su repertorio. Para cerrar ese día se presentará Enrique Nery, quien ha sido director musical de figuras como: Luís Miguel, Monna Bell, Carlos Lico y Emmanuel, así como un excelente arreglista de prestigiados cantantes. Como jazzista, ha actuado con: Justo Almario, Oscar Stagnaro y Clarence Penn, entre otros.
El 27 de noviembre, abre el escenario Spyro Gyra, grupo que en el 2001 grabó "In Modern Times", un álbum que se mantuvo 64 semanas en las listas de jazz contemporáneo de Billboard, llegando hasta la segunda posición. Y para concluir ese día un ícono de Brasil, Sergio Mendes, quien presenta su álbum más reciente llamado "Encanto", proyecto descrito como: "encanto, delicia, carisma".
Por su parte el 28 de noviembre arriba con magníficas presentaciones para un cierre excepcional. El primer turno corresponde a Pat Martino, quien hoy día es considerado uno de los más talentosos e importantes guitarristas de jazz de todos los tiempos. Su reputación entre los guitarristas de jazz ha sido aun más remarcable por el hecho de haberse recuperado de una devastadora cirugía en 1980, en la cual perdió la memoria y aprendió a tocar guitarra de nueva cuenta para retomar su posición como uno de los más aclamados guitarristas del jazz contemporáneo. Posteriormente será el turno de Al Jarreau, único vocalista en la historia de la música en recibir tres Grammys en diferentes categorías (Jazz, R&B y Pop) y quien ha grabado más de una docena de álbumes en las últimas tres décadas.
Para una magna clausura llega Herbie Hancock, una verdadera leyenda de la música moderna, quien desde 1960 se ha movido con fluidez entre casi todas las técnicas de jazz y R&B, desde acústico hasta eléctrico. Ha conseguido un balance perfecto entre lo comercial y lo artístico con gran éxito, llegando a un punto en su carrera en el cual se aventura en cualquier proyecto, motivado únicamente por el deseo de expandir los límites de su propia creatividad.

Beautiful Akumal is located 35 minutes or 37 km (23 miles) south of Playa del Carmen, only 26 km (16 miles) north of Tulum, in the Riviera Maya. And. 100 km (62 miles) south of Cancún. It iss part of Tulum municipality in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. The 2005 census showed a population of Akumal at 1,198 inhabitants. There is a 4 lane highway that goes from Cancun all the way south to Tulum. There are many highway signs with information, which makes it easy to find most destinations.
